Vulcan XH558 confirmed for Cotswold Airshow!

Following a, quite literally, roaring success with her appearance at Abingdon Airshow,
the much loved Vulcan Bomber is set to show the Cotswolds what she's made of with her appearance at the Cotswold Airshow on Saturday 18th June.

I saw the girl myself for the first time at Abingdon a couple of weeks ago, and the way she touches your heart and soul really cannot be put into words - The 'Vulcan Experience' is definitely to be seen - and heard! - to be believed.

Vulcan XH558 - The Spirit of Great Britain.
The Vulcan was grounded after a 33 year career with the Royal Air Force, but a vast amount of public support saw her returning to the skies in 2007, in a restoration campaign which was funded by over 20,000 people all over the world. Lottery funding was also used to help XH558, although current financial troubles threaten the Vulcan's future again. Her appearance at Cotswold Airshow could be one of her last, and therefore any support is vital to keep the Spirit of Great Britain alive.

You can click here to visit the Vulcan To The Sky website - this is a worthwhile cause, and again, any support is very much appreciated.

The show, which is also celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the Hawker Hunter Jet - always worth seeing, by the way! - will also include the 'Diamond Nine' Hunter Formation Flypast. In addition, we're toasting the 75th Anniversary of the first flight of the Spitfire - with at least three present for this important milestone.

With a large amount of modern military aircraft present, we'll also be welcoming home the Red Arrows, who were based there for 16 years when it was known as RAF Kemble.

As with any airshow, it will be well worth the visit - the sights and sounds of these planes will stay with you for the rest of your life. (I even decided I liked a plane so much I got it tattooed on my shoulder!)

You can visit the website for Cotswold Airshow here - and we'll see you there!
