New Product - Metz 50 Flash Unit.

The Metz Mecablitz 50 AF-1 is the upgraded 48 AF-1 Digital, winner of the TIPA Award for 'Best Photographic Accessory 2008'. All the benefits of the previous model have been kept, with further additions included.

The streamlined housing of the 'gun can be mounted onto the flash shoe via a new base, fixing quickly and easily in a single movement - let's give a nod to the new optimised lock system here, thankyou. The guide number has been moved up to 50/ for ISO 100/21ยบ and 105mm focal length. Performance and realibity have been further perfected through improvements to the high performance flash tube. Also, the flash has been furnished with a servo flash release - the internal flash also works seperately of the camera's main function.

Even the wide-angle diffusion has been adapted and is now suitable for illumination of wide-angle focal lengths from 12mm at 135mm format. Like all mecablitz system flash units, the new unit is available in different fits, perfectly tailored to digital cameras made by all leading manufacturers. The 50 AF-1's options for image composition are virtually limitless, allowing precise tailoring for each light output. The numerous manual tuning options extend creative photographic freedom, with many possibilities opened up for individual lighting options.

A fully swivelling reflector system contains a flip out reflector card and a diffuser, amd the slave and new servo function allow the new premium flash unit to be used without constraints in two different operating modes, depending on the camera model.

The servo flash release means that no camera master function is required to use the flash as an additional creative light source in the room. The camera-specific wireless TTL remote mode of the respective models comes into play with the slave function. High performance compact flash with USB connection, thanks to the Metz mecablitz digital USB interface, updates can be installed via an online connection.
Due to its high guide number 50 for ISO 100/21° und 105 mm focal length, the 50 AF-1 digital is not just high performance but also lends itself perfectly to being used as an indirect flash. Different versions for Canon, Nikon/Fujifilm, Olympus/Panasonic/Leica, Pentax and Sony are available.
