A Cotswold Scene - Prize Giving.

On the 27th November 2010, the winners of A Cotswold Scene were announced at the O3 Gallery, Oxford Castle by invite only - with one of our employees, Cliff Manion, doing some of the prize giving. Launched in April, the competition was in honour of the beauty of the Cotswolds while giving photographers of all ages the chance to have their image showcased over a 6 week, high profile exhibition at O3 Gallery, Oxford Castle.

The brainwave of local landscape photographer Sarah Howard, the idea was also supported by the Cotswold Conservation Board, Isis Framing of Oxford, and Blueprint Imaging of Witney. Sarah's lived in the Cotswolds for most of her life, and therefore has a exceptional love for the region and is understandably eager to promote the hundred or so miles of photographic potential.

The O3 Gallery at Oxford Castle presents a fantastic range of exhibitions by local artists, offering the utmost contemporary arts. Choosing between three categories, "My Cotswolds", "A Cotswold View" and "Cotswold Life", the budding photographers were each offered the chance to win a number of great prizes. Sarah in particular was keen to encourage creativity in the younger photographers, helping them to connect with the natural outdoors. As Sarah said, "There is a wealth of talent out there, so this provided a great opportunity for people to get their work seen in one of Oxford's best galleries".

Winner Peter Kuzmin was award a 2 night midweek stay - including dinner on one evening to the value of £50 - at the historical White Hart Royal Hotel in Moreton-in-Marsh in the beautiful Evenlode Valley. He also wins a one day one-to-one photography workshop in the Cotswolds with Sarah.

The overall youth winner, Rosie Wild, wins a fabulous Ricoh R10 camera and a place on a one day group youth workshop with Sarah.
