The Giottos Vitruvian VGRN 8225+5400-652 Tripod is designed to offer the photographer a lightweight and compact tripod with a ball head. With 'reverse technology' legs that can fold through 180ยบ when collapsed, surrounding the tripod head and centre column. Hello to a much more compact and portable tripod.
There are several tripod kits that have the following feature, but few do it quite so well as the Giottos Vitruvian; it's not just a tripod. Unscrewing the marked tripod leg, removing the centre column & head and joining them together will produce a monopod.
With a maximum operating height of 142cm without the centre column, it's a pretty decent height for such a compact tripod, and with a maximum weight capacity of 6kg, it's going to hold a fair bit of kit too! Weighing in at just 1.3kg, I'd be more than happy to carry this round for most, if not all of the day. The ball head supplied with these legs has an on/off control and a pan lock, a quick release plate and spirit levels. The main tripod castings are made from a forged aluminium alloy for strength and the quick action twist leg locks require only 1/8 turn to lock and unlock.
The VGRN tripod features a splittable centre column to improve low level photography options and all VGRN tripods are supplied with a carry bag.
