Notice about Grey Imports.

Following recent low-key news and enquires, we'd like to explain a little more about what we mean when we say that we're a trusted UK dealer. Some retailers provide products which have been dubbed 'Grey Imports', and there are risks associated with buying such products.

First of all, the definition of aforementioned 'Grey Imports' are products sourced / brought in from outside the United Kingdom.

The potential risks associated with buying Grey Imports are;-

  • Some manufacturers provide additional years of Warranty in the United Kingdom - such as Manfrotto / Gitzo, and Grey Imports sadly won't qualify for such support.
  • If there's a Cashback Promotion running, Grey Imports won't be considered valid if the promotion is run by the UK branch of that manufacturer.
  • Extended Guarantee repairs on Grey Imports might not even be considered by some manufacturers.
  • You could be liable for import duty and VAT on any purchases you make.
  • Small print could be your downfall - if the product is lost during transit, you could be liable for it. Always check the small print to find out when the title of owner of any goods transfers to the customer.
  • Returning or even trying to exchange an item may prove much more difficult than it should be.

Buying from Morris Photographic means that you're buying from a supplier who sell products sourced only from the UK, and provide customer service available Monday - Saturday from our shop in Oxfordshire, or over the phone on 08454 302030. And of course, full UK Manufacturers Warranty.
